Australia is a country in the world's smallest continent Australia and it is officially known as the Commonwealth of Australia. Indonesia, Timor, and Papua New Guinea are the countries to the north of Australia; the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia border the northeast of Australia and New Zealand lies in the southeast of Australia. Canberra is the capital city and Sidney is the largest city in Australia. National language of Australia is English and the currency is Australian Dollar (AUD). There are various time zones in Australia from UTC + 8 to UTC + 10.5 and in summer from UTC + 8 to UTC + 11.5.




Government of Australia is federal Parliamentary Democracy with Constitutional Monarchy. A highly developed country Australia is the member of G*, NATO, UN, OECD, WTO and Commonwealth of Nations. Queen Elizabeth II is the Monarch, Kevin Rudd is the Prime Minister and Quentin Bryce is the Governor General. Australia is a multi-cultural society with a high standing in the standard of living, quality of life, healthcare, life expectancy, protection of civil rights, public education and economic freedom.
