Canberra, the capital city of Australia, is the eight largest city of Australia and it is located at the northern end of the Australian Capital Territory, about 280 km from Sydney and 660 km from Melbourne. Canberra is renowned as the 'Bush Capital' because of a large areas with natural vegetation and greenery. Being the Capital of Australia, Canberra is the seat of Government of Australia and it houses the Parliament Building, the High Court and many other governmental departments, agencies, organizations and institutes.





Canberra is also the seat of many other cultural, educational and political institutions including Royal Military College, National Museum, National Library, National Gallery, Australian War Memorial, Australian National University, and Australian Institute of Sports. Australian Federal Government is the largest employer in Canberra. Climate of Canberra is relatively dry continental climate with warm to hot summers and cool to cold winters and relatively lesser rainfall. Apart from the national monuments and government buildings, Canberra is the home to many other interesting sites including Black Mountain Tower, National Dinosaur Museum, National Science and Technology Center and National Botanical Gardens.
