Australia is a 2008 epic romance film starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman in the lead roles. Directed by Baz Luhrmann, Australia is the second largest commercially successful films in Australia, second only to Crocodile Dundee. The movie is set during the period 1939 to 1942 against a backdrop of events in northern Australia and the bombing of Darwin city during WWII and shot in Darwin, Sydney, Kununurra and Bowen. The film was released starting from December 2008 through January and February 2009.






Initially, Australia Movie Reviews were mixed with general consensus that the movie is good not yet great but some of the review specialist and collectors reported that movie had got more than 52% positive reviews and also reported that the film featured excellent production and some of the best shooting vistas. In Australia, the movie grossed over 6 million AUD in the first week, which set the record for highest grossing Australian film during the first week of release. In its worldwide releases, the movie has grossed over 211 million USD but in the United States, the film did not fare well.
